Railfanning Cajon Pass on 12-28-10 Part 2 HD Add Video

Watch in High Definition! I decided to take advantage to a mid-week opportunity to go to Cajon Pass over my winter break hoping to catch weekday freights. I was rewarded with a great day; filming 14 freights over a 5 and 1/2 hour period. We started out by quickly stopping at Cajon Station to catch a freight that we saw while we were driving up the 15 freeway. We then raced up to Hill 582, the popular railfanning hotspot just missing a chance to see the first freight a second time. Once we arrived and set up, we were treated to near constant traffic and never went more than 45 minutes without seeing a train. I also got to see a BNSF C44-9W leading!

Train 1: An Eastbound BNSF Intermodal Train Ascends Track 1. Led by BNSF ES44DC 7460. Trailing is BNSF C44-9W 4072, BNSF ES44DC 7434, BNSF C44-9W 5051, and BNSF ES44DC 7614.

Train 2: A Westbound UP Manifest descends the UP Palmdale Cutoff with 3 boeing airplane parts cars. Led by UP ES44AC 5449. Trailing is UP SD90MAC 8209 and UP ES44AC 5493. UP ES44ACs 5442, 5373 and 5417 serve as DPU.

Train 3: A Westbound BNSF Stack Train descends Track 2. Lead by BNSF ES44DC 7423. Trailing is BNSF ES44DC 7377. BNSF C44-9W 5010 and BNSF ES44DC 7451 serve as DPU.

Train 4: The Westbound BNSF Loaded Ethanol Train descends Track 2 with a nice crew. Lead by BNSF C44-9W 4094! Trailing is BNSF ES44DC 7603, BNSF ES44C4 6622, and BNSF C44-9W 5149. BNSF ES44DC and 7595 and fire damaged BNSF C44-9W 4065 serve as DPU.

Train 5: An Eastbound BNSF Intermodal Train ascends track 1 and meets the ethanol train. Led by BNSF ES44DC 7272. Trailing are BNSF C44-9Ws 4047, 5253, and 4178.

This is Part 2 of 3.
